Cangrejos Fantasmas Earn 5-1 Home Win
|
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas topped the Marquette Miners, 5-1, in USPL Double A action at Ghost Crab Park. The standout performance belonged to Chesapeake pitcher and Tacoma, Washington, native Warren Evans. Evans, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. With the victory, the Cangrejos Fantasmas upped their record to 38-23.
Tommy O'Farrell went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Chesapeake. The 24-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Francisco Rodríguez. It was his 57th hit of the season.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," O'Farrell said.
