Fuller Goes Deep Twice in 4-2 Thunder Win
|
Jay Fuller helped his team muscle past the Asheville Highlanders, 4-2. In the game, the St. Petersburg third baseman slugged 2 home runs. St. Petersburg pitcher Larry Austin got the win. He's now 2-1. Glen Burt was tagged with the loss. The win gives the Thunder a record of 18-43.
Bobby Bailey, the 24-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bailey contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put St. Petersburg up, 3-2.
Fuller called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
