Atoms Thwart Vipers, 4-3
|
Bethesda beat Vancouver on the strength of starting pitcher Will Bennett's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Bethesda is now 27-34.
Had Rod Stroud not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Stroud hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Atoms.
"Both teams played hard," said Bethesda manager Amadeo Nardello.
