Nuevo Mexico Mariachis starter David O'Halloran had all his pitches working at Mariachi Band Shell. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Nuevo Mexico win over the Lake Murray MotorBoaters. O'Halloran, now 6-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. By defeating Lake Murray, the 4th-place Mariachis improved to 36-26.
Eduardo Hernández, who is tied for 9th in the PAA in bases on balls with 26, aided the Nuevo Mexico cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-3 with 2 walks.
"David was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Nuevo Mexico manager Andrés Ventura.
