Screaming Eagles Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
The Ogre Den was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Han-soo Yang pitched a gem to lead Mercer Island to victory over the Olympia Ogres, 2-1. The Screaming Eagles have an impressive 38-24 record.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Screaming Eagles had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the first, when right fielder Pedro Cortés hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Chris Johnston and made the score 2-0, Screaming Eagles. Cortés was 1-4.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Yang said.
