Mercer Island Dealt 8-6 Defeat
|
The Olympia Ogres outlasted Micheal Ball and the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 8-6. Ball was impressive in the loss. The Mercer Island shortstop went 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Egor Wolfson notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record now sits at 2-1. Jeff Rodríguez got the save, the 17th for him this season.
Yuan Chou hit a run-scoring double off Fernando López in the bottom of the third, which put the Ogres in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, Chou had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Chou, "but we got it done."
The 9th-place Ogres now have a win-loss record of 28-35.
