The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and Olympia Ogres put on quite a show.

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles pushed past the Olympia Ogres, 9-7, in 12 innings at The Ogre Den. Nobuo Kobayashi belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice, to lead the charge. Mercer Island reliever Al McCormick picked up the win to move to 1-1. Mark Sims suffered the loss.

Mercer Island used the clutch hitting of Jesús Rosário to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to give the Screaming Eagles the lead, 4-3. For the game, Rosário had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Mercer Island manager Jonah Moody.

The Screaming Eagles now have a record of 39-24 with the win over Olympia.
