Vipers Deal Screaming Eagles Painful Loss
|
Héctor Trujillo left his imprint on the 7-6 Vancouver win against the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. Trujillo, who is tied for 7th in the PAA in bases on balls with 28, went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Bill Carson claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record stands at 1-5. By defeating Mercer Island, the last-place Vipers improved to 23-41.
Vancouver got a game-changing hit from Scott Mayes. The catcher blasted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a winner.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Trujillo told the Vancouver News.
