Pontiac Godfathers starter José Sandoval turned in an exceptional performance against the Alaskan Bush Pilots at Pontiac Copperdome, resulting in a Pontiac win, 4-1. Bob Simpson sewed up the save, his 4th. The loss makes the Bush Pilots 6-10.

Pontiac took the lead, 2-1, on Grégory Garcia's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Alaskan pitcher Lowie Hulsbos in the bottom of the seventh.

"It was a solid team effort," Sandoval said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
