The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis and Crescent City Krewe provided some drama for the home crowd.

Starting pitcher Jesse Blanton took care of business, helping the Crescent City Krewe stifle the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 3-2. Blanton got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Wayne Meyrick collected save number 12.

Luis González cracked a home run off William Nevárez in the bottom of the sixth. His solo blast put the Krewe on top, 3-2. In all, González had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Tough loss," said Nuevo Mexico manager Allen Carlson. "But we'll learn from it."

Crescent City, at 36-30, occupies third place in the Premier AA.
