Screaming Eagles Cut Down Vipers, 6-5

Fans watched the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles and the Vancouver Vipers fight to the finish.
Mauro Flores knocked in 3 runs to help Mercer Island beat Vancouver, 6-5. The San Isidro, Costa Rica native tallied 1 single and 1 home run. Mercer Island raised its record to 37-29 with the win.
Dane Kennedy, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in triples with 3, aided the Mercer Island cause with a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Flores, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
