Chiefs Take Home 2-0 Win Over Columbia
Starting pitcher Jorge González took care of business, helping the Caldwell Chiefs stifle the Columbia River Rats, 2-0. González, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Steve Thomas got the save, the 6th for him this season.

Caldwell used the timely hitting of Edwin Hankins to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Chiefs on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Hankins, "and then get after it again."

The River Rats drop to 8-8 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2062 season.
