Screaming Eagles Top Fighting Imps, 5-4

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles took Ithaca pitcher David Jordan's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Mercer Island Grounds. The final score had Mercer Island getting past the Fighting Imps, 5-4. Jordan went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 8. Mercer Island reliever Charles Jones picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Horace Farris was saddled with the loss. The win puts the Screaming Eagles at 35-32, while the Fighting Imps drop to 32-35.
The Screaming Eagles procured the win, in large part because of pinch hitter Joe Brouwers. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Brouwers.
