Mercer Island Gets 5-2 Win
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis got a superb performance from pitcher Trent Troubridge, but the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles still won the game, 5-2. Troubridge threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs. Spencer Margó got the win, improving to 1-5. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. The losing streak for Nuevo Mexico has now reached 4 games.

Mercer Island used the timely hitting of David Acevedo to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Screaming Eagles on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Mercer Island skipper Eric Todd.
