Fighting Imps Upend Miners, 8-5
|
Ithaca and Marquette duked it out and the Fighting Imps came out victorious.
The Ithaca Fighting Imps powered past the Marquette Miners, 8-5, at Marquette Stadium. Nicephorus Yeremian went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs, to lead the charge. The winning pitcher was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Robbie Stanley. He tossed 110 pitches over 7.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The save was credited to Yuk Yan, his 2nd.
Efren Agpalasin provided a timely hit. The Ithaca designated hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Enjoyed this one," Agpalasin told the Ithaca Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The 6th-place Fighting Imps hiked their record to 31-36.
