Vipers Take Tight Tangle
With center fielder Pat Craig leading the charge, the Vancouver Vipers defeated the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 6-5, at Mobile Home Park. Craig, who leads the PAA in extra base hits with 30, was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win went to Jesús Bojórquez in relief, making him now 3-3. Jim Wilson took the loss for Gulf Coast. With the win, the Vipers improved to 37-30.

Vancouver used the timely hitting of Wiley Smith to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Vipers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Smith.
