Krewe Best Guinea Pigs in Pitching Duel
|
The Crescent City Krewe went home winners at Experimental Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Warren Mora. Mora stifled the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs, enabling Crescent City to grab the 2-1 win. Mora got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Crescent City currently is in 5th place in the Premier AA at 34-34.
Joe Steward drove in one run for Crescent City. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Brooks Brown. It was his 21st RBI of the season.
"Some games build character," said Crescent City manager Jack Morton. "Like this one."
