Belcher Swats 2 Homers, Cangrejos Fantasmas Top Vipers, 9-5
|
Getting offensive support from Danny Belcher, the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas topped the Vancouver Vipers, 9-5. Belcher hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Cangrejos Fantasmas. Picking up the win was Sumiteru Uemura. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 11 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 0. Chesapeake, at 43-25, is 4 games up in the Premier AA.
Early in the game, second baseman Christian McFarland had a 2-run home run for Chesapeake. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Cangrejos Fantasmas on top, 2-1.
"Hitting is contagious. And when you have a lineup that's going to throw out competitive at-bats one through nine, it makes you want to join in," said Belcher.
