Minnesota Gets 5-2 Win
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles got a superb performance from pitcher Morgan Cartier, but the Minnesota Loons still won the game, 5-2. Cartier threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Dionísio Zagallo earned the win for Minnesota. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 6-3. Waweru Kamili, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Stephan Tietmeyer, the 23-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Tietmeyer contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the sixth inning to put Minnesota up, 2-1.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Tietmeyer told the Minnesota Daily.
Their 37-32 record puts the Loons 5th in the Premier AA.
