Mercer Island starter Jeremy Bush pitched effectively against the Ithaca Fighting Imps at Mercer Island Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-3. With the win, the Screaming Eagles have a record of 32-38.

The Fighting Imps had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Screaming Eagles going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old right fielder Pedro Cortés came to the plate. Cortés hit a 3-run home run on a 1-1 sinker from Ithaca hurler Salvador Pérez. It was Cortés's 2nd home run of the year.

"I thought Jeremy threw the ball well across the board," said Mercer Island manager Eric Todd.
