Ogres Snag 4-1 Win
|
The Olympia Ogres picked up a win at The Ogre Den, downing the St. Petersburg Thunder, 4-1. On the mound for Olympia was right-hander Christos Waddington, who played a pivotal role in the win. Jorge Mojica, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. Mark Sims closed it out for Olympia, earning his 20th save.
Armando Andrade hit a run-scoring double off Jon Ford in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Ogres in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Andrade had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Andrade said after the game.
The 8th-place Thunder have dropped 5 straight games.
