The Delmarva Gallos topped the Belleville Bulls, 6-5, at The Cage. Delmarva second baseman Peter Hart was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. Charles Covenay nailed down the save. The hot start continues for the defending champion Gallos. This was their 12th win in 17 games.
Delmarva first baseman Jorge Ramírez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 7th hit of the season and put the Gallos ahead, 6-2.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Ramírez, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
