Mockingbirds Earn 4-3 Win Versus Shredders
The Memphis Mockingbirds scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Hollywood Shredders at The Hollywood Bowl. Memphis pitcher Marvin Velásquez held his own in the contest. Memphis is now 43-56, Hollywood 43-56.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Carlos Gómez came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Hollywood pitcher Bill Owens, he hit a 1-1 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Memphis on top, 4-3.

After the game, Memphis manager Beau Carsten applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
