Mercer Island and Chesapeake duked it out and the Screaming Eagles came out victorious.

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles banked on Roy Roberts and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Chesapeake hitters in check. The final score was 3-0, Screaming Eagles. Roberts, now 2-2, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing no runs.

Mercer Island used a clutch at-bat from Dane Kennedy to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Kennedy.

With the victory, the Screaming Eagles upped their record to 45-28.
