The Ithaca Fighting Imps had to overcome a fine effort from Olympia pitcher Brian McDaniel to win, 5-4, at Imps Park. McDaniel went 8 innings and allowed 5 runs. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher Curt Keeley in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Brian McDaniel took the loss. The Fighting Imps win now puts them at 38-36.

Ithaca got a clutch hit from Mal Richardson. The catcher socked a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was game-ender.

"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Richardson said.
