Downward Spiral Continues for St. Petersburg
|
St. Petersburg got a decent performance from pitcher Sze Wan, but it wasn't enough to beat the Crescent City Krewe. Crescent City won the Baby Thunder Dome contest, 6-1. Wan threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. John Elías, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. The Krewe, at 50-25, lead by one game in their division.
Bryan Murray contributed to the Crescent City win with a solo home run in the top of the second. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"No one likes losing," said St. Petersburg manager Terrence Eler. "But we'll turn this thing around."
