Atoms Take Down Mariachis, 4-3
|
The Bethesda Atoms racked up a win at Mariachi Band Shell, bumping off the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, 4-3, in 10 innings. Dan Black, who started for Bethesda, pitched effectively for his team. The Atoms now own a record of 36-39.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, Yoshinori Murakami hit a 1-1 fastball from Burt Dickerson for a run-scoring single. It put Bethesda in front, 3-2.
"Dan had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Bethesda manager Amadeo Nardello.
