Streaking Manatees Win Another One, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Matlacha Manatees and the Idaho Falls Chukars, 23-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Campbell proved to be the difference. The Matlacha right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Manatees win. Idaho Falls, now 2-16, has gotten off to a terrible start.
Rob Fowler drew 1 walk for Matlacha. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Fowler had a clutch at-bat. Facing Idaho Falls hurler Edgardo Silva, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Manatees a 2-1 lead.
"We have a lot of confidence in Dave," said Matlacha manager Howard Lee.
