Murakami Hits 2 home runs in Atoms Win
|
The Bethesda Atoms stopped the Olympia Ogres, 5-4, at Atoms Field. The Atoms got a big game from Yoshinori Murakami, who slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Cory Valéncia got credit for the save for Bethesda. It was his 9th of the year. The Atoms, at 37-39, inhabit 5th place in the Premier AA.
Murakami had a timely hit for Bethesda in the bottom of the seventh. With Bethesda trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-0 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season, making it 5-3, Bethesda.
"Enjoyed this one," Murakami told the Bethesda Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
