Miners Grind Out 2-1 Win
The Marquette Miners earned a close win over the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis, thanks in part to Jorge Flores. The Marquette right-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Marquette, at 38-40, holds down 5th place in the Premier AA.

Third Baseman Luis Jiménez made an impact for Marquette, when he swatted a solo home run off Bob Ashley in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Jiménez was 1-3 with a home run.

"Every loss hurts," said Nuevo Mexico manager Allen Carlson. "But this was a tough one."
