Asheville Highlanders starter Joe Hunt was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 7-2. Asheville is now 38-40, while Mercer Island is 56-22.

Making an impact for the home team was Jesús Martínez. In the bottom of the fourth, the 25-year old shortstop had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 2-0, Highlanders.
