Washington Earns 4-3 Win
|
Levittown got a terrific performance from pitcher James Carpenter, but it wasn't enough to beat the Washington Generals. Washington won the Washington Park contest, 4-3. Carpenter threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The win lifts Washington to a record of 10-9.
Denzel Turner was the walk-off hero for Washington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Generals second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
In postgame remarks, Turner applauded his team's "business-like approach."
