Airmen Come Back Late, Nip Expos
|
No one was more impactful than Alain Bernard in the 4-3 Alameda win over Niagara Falls. Bernard, who is tied for 2nd in the 3A in triples with 1, slugged 2 home runs. The win went to Javier Acosta in relief, making him now 1-1. Joe Woolsey took the loss for Niagara Falls. Todd Lee closed out the game, earning his 4th save.
Bernard had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the eighth, when he hit a solo home run. The Airmen went on to win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bernard.
The Expos fall to 8-11 and continue their uneven start to the 2062 season.
