|
Wynn Jackson pitched a gem to lead Marquette to victory over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 10-0. Jackson picked up the win for Marquette, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-1. Squirrel Hill is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 9 games.
Marquette used the stroke of John Wallace to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Miners ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Marquette skipper José Luna.
