In a tight contest at Mariachi Band Shell, the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis edged the Toledo Saboteurs by the score of 9-8. Nuevo Mexico catcher Ricky Lee, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Román Martínez, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in holds with 5, was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Júlio Medina. At 41-39, the Mariachis are currently 4th in the Premier AA.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Nuevo Mexico right fielder José Bazaldua, facing Júlio Medina, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Mariachis the 9-8 win.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Bazaldua said.
