Atoms Even Record with 7-4 Victory
The Bethesda Atoms knocked off the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 7-4, in USPL Double A action at Mercer Island Grounds. Bethesda pitcher and Fengshan, Taiwan, native Gin-fan Dou had an outstanding performance. The Atoms raised their record to 40-40.

Bethesda relied on the bat of Mike Sparks to get the win. The right fielder produced a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Atoms ahead, 5-3. For the game, Sparks had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We had a good game plan," Dou said, "and we were able to execute it."
