Vancouver Vipers starter Luis Palma turned in a sterling performance against the Marquette Miners, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. Palma, now 6-10, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Floyd Seymour sewed up the save, his 4th.

Pat Craig, who leads the PAA in triples with 5, aided the Vancouver cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Marquette manager Andrés Pérez.

The Vipers sport a record of 31-50.
