Gordon, Patriots Beat White Walkers, 4-2
|
Patriots catcher Vern Gordon put his stamp on his team's 4-2 win over the Buffalo White Walkers. Gordon went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Boston in the contest. Cordell Dawson picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-0 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 1 in 7 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Buffalo now is 4-6.
With Boston leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Gordon hit a 2-run single off Buffalo hurler Craig Culver. It was the 4th hit of the season for Gordon and put his team ahead, 3-0.
Boston manager Tyler Carter commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
