New Orleans left fielder Janpey Kille had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 6-4. Dexter Yates wrapped it up, recording his 1st save. The loss has the Rainbow Mermaids at 3-7.
New Orleans used a clutch at-bat from Rubén Vargas to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Kille.
