8 Straight Wins for Voodoo

New Orleans Voodoo starter Wes Johnston turned in a top-notch performance against the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at The Cattle Pen. The result was a win for the Voodoo, 4-2. New Orleans pitcher Eugene Pearce got the win, upping his record to 6-7. Tony Correa got the loss. The wins continue to add up for New Orleans. The latest makes it 8 in a row.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Fernando Mezzatesta? The 25-year old third baseman Mezzatesta stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put New Orleans up, 4-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
