Stingers Win, 6-1, at Baltimore
|
Baltimore got a valiant performance from pitcher Teika Fukuda, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toledo Stingers. Toledo won the game, 6-1. Fukuda threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Sam Myers was called on to finish, recording his 21st save. Toledo now has a record of 55-45 with the win.
David Ruíz came through with a big-time hit for Toledo. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Toledo skipper David Bunting.
