Atoms Absorb 8-4 Home Loss
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Tony Taylor, the Crescent City Krewe defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 8-4. Taylor was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Krewe. Brooks Mason, the winner, improved to 5-3. He held the Atoms to 4 runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 6. Getting the save was David Anderson, his 1st.
With Crescent City leading 5-1 in the top of the sixth, Taylor came up to bat against Bethesda pitcher Bill Bennett. Taylor hit a fastball to center for a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season put the Krewe on top, 8-1.
"We're not really clicking on anything right now," said Bethesda manager Esteban Garza.
The Atoms, now 36-46, have lost 5 in a row.
