The Marquette Miners trumped the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 5-2, at Imps Park. Marquette designated hitter Nicol Steeneveld was terrific. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Marquette starter Harley Wright was credited with the win after throwing 90 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-3. Their 49-33 record puts the Miners second in the Premier AA.

Steeneveld had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from David Jordan, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Miners a 3-1 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Steeneveld.

Marquette manager Andrés Pérez called it "a pretty good win."
