The Marquette Miners and Mercer Island Screaming Eagles played an exciting game.
Marquette pitcher Francisco Rodríguez had a large part in his team subduing the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Jody Dunn recorded the save for Marquette, his 2nd of the season.
Making an impact for the home team was Charles Meyer. In the bottom of the sixth, the 26-year old first baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 4-2, Miners.
Meyer attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The Miners raised their record to 38-45.
