Crescent City Gets 6-3 Win
|
Brant Atkinson was outstanding against Bethesda. The right-hander, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2050 draft, had a changeup that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Krewe 6-3 win. In 6.1 innings, Atkinson surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 10 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Jeff Fisher earned the save, his 5th, for the Krewe.
Crescent City used the timely hitting of Martin Johnstone to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Krewe on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We have a lot of confidence in Brant," said Crescent City manager Belchior Tinoco.
Crescent City raised its record to 55-29 with the win.
