In a low-scoring affair between the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas and the Vancouver Vipers, pitcher José Bautista was the difference between victory and defeat. The Chesapeake right-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Cangrejos Fantasmas win. David Adelabu recorded his 22nd save for Chesapeake. By defeating Vancouver, the first-place Cangrejos Fantasmas improved to 54-30.

Chesapeake relied on the bat of Dave Cooper to get the win. The shortstop produced a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 3-2. For the game, Cooper had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Bautista told the Chesapeake Observer.
