Tight Tilt Goes to Fighting Imps, 3-2

Ithaca got a strong outing from José Carmona as the Fighting Imps defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 3-2, at Atoms Field. Carmona picked up the win for Ithaca, going 6.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. The Fighting Imps, at 41-44, sit in 5th place in the Premier AA.
Fred McElroy, the 28-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. McElroy contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Ithaca up, 2-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Carmona told the Ithaca Observer.
