Hawks Foil Generals, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Laredo Hawks and the Washington Generals, Lewis Jones was the X factor. The Laredo right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Wendel Loovens earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game. With the win, Laredo raised its record to 12-8.
Laredo used the stroke of Wibowo Alatas to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Hawks ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Alatas.
