Vipers Get Clutch Win Versus Mercer Island
Vancouver left fielder Pat Craig helped his team beat the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 6-5. Craig, who leads the PAA in triples with 5, went 2 for 4 for the Vipers. The win belonged to Bobby Spears in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Paul Jefferson took the loss for Mercer Island. The second-place Screaming Eagles now sit at 52-34.

Had Craig not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Craig hit a bases-clearing double. The Vipers took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Craig said.
