The Olympia Ogres wiggled past the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 7-6, at Ghost Crab Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of Olympia pitcher Brian McDaniel. Miguel Ortíz, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on no hits in 2 innings. The second-place Cangrejos Fantasmas dropped to 56-32.

Olympia used a timely hit from Oliver Pérez to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Ogres ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Pérez. "I like it."
