Atoms Fall Short, 6-5, at Vancouver
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Vancouver Vipers and Bethesda Atoms.
Vancouver left fielder Pat Craig was a significant contributor in his team's 6-5 triumph over the Bethesda Atoms. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Vipers. Bill Carson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 11th save.
With Vancouver leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Craig came up to bat against Bethesda pitcher Luis Yánez. Craig hit a fastball to left for a 2-run double. His 19th double of the season put the Vipers on top, 4-1.
In postgame comments to the Vancouver News, Craig said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
Vancouver is now 36-52, while Bethesda is 38-50.
