With Late Score, Chukars Beat Manatees

The Matlacha Manatees got a superb performance from pitcher Bob Newsome, but the Idaho Falls Chukars still won the game, 4-3. Newsome threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Fa-tang Huang was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Jeffrey White. The 10th-place Chukars sport a record of 8-12.
Wladimir Wemerman was the walk-off hero for Idaho Falls. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Chukars pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
After the game, Idaho Falls manager Robby Long applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
