The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis did just enough to sneak past the Arizona Javelina, 5-4, at Mariachi Band Shell. Nuevo Mexico pitcher Gilberto Espinoza, in particular, had a standout performance. The Mariachis saw their win-loss record go to 50-39. At the same time, the Javelina fell to 27-62.

Donnie MacKim was the walk-off hero for Nuevo Mexico. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mariachis right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"It's great when the crowd goes berserk," MacKim said.
