The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles faced a tough opponent in Lake Murray pitcher Alex Carr, but still scratched out a win at Heron Field by a final score of 3-2 in 11 innings. Carr went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Mercer Island reliever Floyd Schultz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chuck Knight absorbed the loss. Mercer Island has now won 5 games in a row.
Mercer Island used the clutch hitting of Ángel Soto to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to give the Screaming Eagles the lead, 3-2. For the game, Soto had 1 single and 2 doubles in 5 at-bats.
