The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis beat the Arizona Javelina, 13-1, at Mariachi Band Shell. Santiago Ybarra, in particular, was impressive. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Alberto Martínez, the winner, improved to 7-0. He held the Javelina to 1 run on 3 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The losses continue to add up for Arizona, having now dropped 8 straight.
Jack Schaefer contributed to the Nuevo Mexico win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
