Voodoo Stay Hot, Beat White Walkers, 5-3
|
The 5-3 New Orleans win over Buffalo was due largely to Jorge Valdés. The Voodoo second baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Bob Douglas finished to wrap up his 26th save. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for New Orleans.
Valdés contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for New Orleans in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Valdés took a curveball from Craig Culver and stroked the home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Voodoo to leap in front, 4-3.
New Orleans manager Chase Sims praised his team's "businesslike approach."
