Rainbow Mermaids Beaten By Shredders, 3-1
Yoshitaka Shinohara never let the Rainbow Mermaids get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Shredders to a win, 3-1. Shinohara picked up the win for Hollywood, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. The win puts the Shredders at 45-56, while the Rainbow Mermaids drop to 49-52.

In the top of the ninth, James Murphy stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Rainbow Mermaids were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 3rd. That's when Skip Lewis made a terrific pitch and Murphy struck out. Gone was the dream of a Northern Virginia comeback.
